History

This section covers the brief profile of the institute, it's history, objectives and the inception of the CIVIL SERVICES OFFICERS' INSTITUTE.

The Government had approved the setting up of Civil Services Officers' Institute for providing facilities for senior officials of different services and their families for social interaction and meetings as well as recreation and sports as decided by the Committee of Secretaries in its meeting held on October 13, 1997.

 

The Institute was inaugurated at its registered office at M.S. Apartments and Hostel, K. G. Marg, New Delhi-110001 on 28 February, 1998 by the then Cabinet Secretary and Chairman of CSOI, Shri. T.S.R. Subramaniam.

 

The main sources of income are from government aid, admission and security fee, annual subscription from the members and interest from fixed deposits.

The transactions in the Institute are carried out through cash upto Rs.500/- and beyond Rs.500/- through cheque/credit cards. CSOI has arranged supply of Visa Smart Card-cum-Credit Cards (no charges for the Card) through ICICI Bank. Facility is also available for the Spouse Member and Dependent children to avail add on credit cards on payment of Rs. 50/- per annum respectively.
